Finished: OFF (Game)

Download Link to OFF

So the gaming sect of Tumblr (Note:  "off (game)" and character name tags WILL pull up some NSFW rule 34.) seemed to be somewhat buzzing about an old-school, indie RPG called "OFF" made by French "developer"(?) Mortis Ghost, using the RPG Maker program.

Trying to quell my addiction to Team Fortress 2 I decided to give the game a shot as I was really curious about all these mentions of some of the scenes or the ending hitting the reviewers in "the feels."

As expected of any game made with a Gameboy-graphic-ed development tool, the fights were generally repetitive and boring. There are a wealth of interesting enemies that you fight - not all of them with names readily available. The bosses and most of the supporting characters all have interesting quirks about them. The puzzles and environments were all engaging for me. (Not much of an RPG player.)

The world and the story were definitely strange and interesting as is the implied past that led up to the current circumstances of the world the characters are in. As everyone else will tell you, the story is what makes this game and will (hopefully) keep you interested until the end.

I actually quite enjoyed this small vacation from my gaming routine. I hope to find more exquisite games like OFF in the future.

Received my Ouya yesterday.

I got some of the pictures taken before I noticed someone was streaming Iron Man 3 on Justin.tv. (Their channel has finally been closed down. I am really curious as to who actually feels the need to report the channels or if these are actually people hired to check on all the channels?)

So the console came in a small, nondescript shipping box. Once I opened it up I found my secondary controller I purchased between two folded sheets of bubble wrap. Underneath that was the console box wrapped in bubble wrap.

One unfortunate issue I noticed was the bottom corner of the console was scratched up a bit. It looked like it might have been dropped at some point with the protective plastic sheet covering it.

I am guessing once all the KickStarter backers receive their consoles and the pre-order consoles are made then the servers and network will be upgraded? All the preview images for the available games and applications seem to either load very slowly or not at all.

Anyways, here are the pictures:

Display Games.

This is just a boring filler post because I am still cleaning the Nintendo Wii Limited Edition Red and the White Sega Dreamcast before I post any pictures.

Still looking for a Platinum Nintendo GameCube because I do not want to re-experience cutting out the cardboard insert for the box and most of the listings on eBay have the box, but not the insert.

I also purchased Mass Effect 3 for the PC despite not having finished 1 or 2.

So... I purchased these two games back in 2005 (I think?) from a bazaar (it is like a flea market). At the time, it did not occur to me that I was purchasing illegal copies. Despite buying them I still have yet to finish either. I never installed Splinter Cell:  Double Agent and only tried Company of Heroes for maybe an hour until I figured I was not interested in RTS games.

I actually purchased a digital copy of Splinter Cell:  Double Agent during one of the numerous Steam sales that occurred, so both games are now just for display as part of my gaming collection. Since neither of them came with an actual DVD-Rom case I purchased two off eBay.

Tada! That is it for my boring filler post.

eBaying It Up.

So I was not really paying attention and purchased a complete white Sega Dreamcast as well as the PSP port for Shadow of Destiny.
I missed a red Nintendo Wii by $2.00 - guess I will have to increase my maximum bids to $160.
I still have not received my tracking number for my Ouya.
